The NEST project was coordinated by Dr. Tuomo Kärnä of VTT.

Within the NEST project also the efforts of the STRICE participants were combined with work of four prominent Chinese research groups. While accepting the NEST project the European Commission requested that the two projects should be clustered.

Clustered STRICE-NEST Activities

Under this cluster STRICE and NEST partners conducted joint measurements and ice tests in the laboratories of VTT and HSVA which are briefly described here.

A joint STRICE-NEST workshop was arranged under the cooperative frame provided by the NEST project from September 23 to 25, 2002 in Dalian (PR China). to enhance the change of research ideas. Read more on this workshop and download the presentations here.

The clustering is also reflected by the involvement of the Chinese NEST coordinator, Prof. Qianjin Yue of Dalian University of Technology - Department of Engineering Mechanics in the STRICE Advisory Board and a comprehensive presentation of the NEST project on the STRICE project web site.
