Brief profile

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a contract research organisation involved in many international assignments. With its more than 3000 employees, VTT provides a wide range of technology and applied research services for its clients, private companies, institutions and the public sector. 

In the STRICE project this organisation is represented by VTT Building Technology, which is one of the six research units of VTT. This institute offers research, development and testing services in the field of construction, communities and physical infrastructures. The institute has a staff of about 500 experts workging in various fields of construction technology. These include Building Physics, Fire Technology, Building Materials and Products, Transport and Urban Planning as well as Structural Mechanics and Ice Engineering.
 

Involvement in and contributions to the STRICE project

VTT leads the work package Load spectra (WP 2).

The institution contributes to the work packages End user workshop (WP 1), Correlation of existing and new data with predictions (WP 6), Recommendations towards codes (WP 7) and Reporting and dissemination of results (WP 9).
