Panel installation with tug and icebreaker
Installation of the panels to measure ice loads at Lighthouse Norstrømsgrund in the Gulf of Bothnia (Northern Baltic Sea) - a Swedish tug boat and an icebreaker assisted in the installation work conducted by LUT personnel during summer 1999.

Panels installed at lighthouse
The installation of the panels containing the load sensors around the basement of Lighthouse Norstrømsgrund was a task of the LOLEIF project. They were maintained and are used also for the ice force measurements in STRICE.

Lighthouse Norstrømsgrund in heavy sea
The panels had to resist high wave forces in ice free periods as well. Heavy sea state also hampered access to the lighthouse by ship and complicated the installations.
