The Laboratoire de
Recherches Hydrauliques is active in hydrodynamics of lakes and fluvial
hydraulics.
The objectives in
studies of the Lac Léman (Lake Geneva), which will be one of the
areas investigated within the Eurolakes project, are to identify and quantify
the key processes important for:

Protection of the environment

Preservation and improvement
of water quality

Optimization of the sustainable
management of the lake

| The LHR is partner
in research and development projects (present research topics: winter cooling,
particle flux and water management) as well as in impact studies for the
construction of ports, water intake and sewage outfall structures. |
